1. What’s included in a family session?
Each session is completely personalized to your family. Whether we’re baking pancakes, running barefoot outside, or reading stories in your living room — I design your session around your connection, dynamic, and season of life. These aren’t stiff, pose-and-smile photos. This is your family, exactly as you are, turned into something beautiful and lasting.
2. Do you offer both outdoor and in-home family sessions?
Yes! You can choose between an in-home session (perfect for cozy, everyday moments) or an outdoor session (great for playful, candid energy). Not sure what’s best? I’ll help you choose based on your family’s vibe and what memories you want to capture.
3. How long are sessions? Will we be rushed?
Not at all. My sessions start at 2 hours, so we have plenty of time to settle in, take breaks, and follow your family’s natural rhythm. If you want something more in-depth, like documenting a full morning or special activity, we can add extra time for a longer, more intimate experience.
4. What if my kids don’t sit still or have a meltdown?
Perfect. That’s real life and that’s what I capture. We don’t force anything. I follow your children’s lead and document the little moments of connection, play, and emotion that happen in between. Some of the best photos come from the chaos.
5. Can we include grandparents or extended family?
Yes, absolutely. Whether it’s grandparents, bonus parents, or chosen family, I’ll work with you to design a session that honors your full story and legacy.
6. What if I don’t have a picture-perfect house?
You do not need a Pinterest-perfect home. I only need a few areas with natural light...a couch, a window, a bed. What matters is the way your family connects in your space. That’s where the real magic is.
7. What should we wear for a family session?
Comfort and connection are key. Neutrals, soft textures, and clothes that move well (and feel like you) photograph beautifully. Once you book, I’ll send a full guide and help you pull everything together with confidence.
8. What does a session actually look like?
No forced poses. No pressure. I’ll gently guide you as needed, but most of the time we’re chatting, playing, and letting the moments unfold naturally. Think storytelling more than staging...we’re capturing your real life, not performing for the camera.
9. How far in advance should we book?
Most families book 4–6 weeks in advance, especially for spring and fall. But I always recommend reaching out as early as you can to get on my calendar—especially if you want a weekend date or longer session.
